Hide ugly wall fixtures with Canvas Art

Wall art over fixture When everything falls in place…

You see that there? That’s my bathroom door. It’s a sliding door.

There’s a power socket underneath the art. It’s connected to my suicide shower. Now let me tell you why I want to find whoever designed this space and strangle him… {pretty sure it’s a dude }

Diy painted leather art

This turned out better than I Imagined.

If I could take a minute to explain where I have been all this time, this would turn into an annoying rant about my job and how it has taken over my life. But this blog isn’t about playing victim, it’s about grabbing stuff all around and creating prettier stuff, yes? Like these lovely wall panels painted with string.

Ok, so lets talk about today’s wall art piece and why I’m so excited about it, everything I used I have had for months, many of them, and it’s a shame I didn’t think of this sooner. It took me over two weeks to come up with this blue glass lantern. It’s not where I want yet but I have gone through a major learning process including how to paint glass. I was aiming for a Moroccan lantern, can you tell? No?

I am in love with Moroccan decor and everything Morocco! My obsession started after watching an episode of America’s next top model a few years ago in which the girls were taken to Morocco.The culture is so rich. I love the colors, the shapes, textures, everything.

The lantern on the right was my first DIY project just before I started this blog. It’s pretty easy to make. The process can literally be described in two sentences.

Basket flower potOh the many uses of our beloved Kiondo!

The kiondo is a traditional african basket. This basket comes in various shapes and sizes and has many functions. I have seen the kiondo used several times for its aesthetics as well. I had these little baskets tucked away in the kitchen and decided they needed to start working for me pronto!

You probably have one of these cool baskets somewhere, time to take it out because there is now no excuse to display your plants in unsightly ‘kasukus’.
